Chinese Freemason Headquarters

Liverpool Chinatown

Our Origins

The Chinese Freemason – known as the Hongmen (洪門) – has a long and historic presence in Liverpool, based at their headquarters in Chinatown. Liverpool is home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe, making this building an important cultural landmark.

What We Do

The Hongmen is a Chinese fraternal organisation and folk religious sect, first founded in 1752. Though often misunderstood, they are not connected to European Freemasonry. Their traditions are rooted in community, honour, and respect.

Our Mission

To maintain historic traditions, uphold the values of righteousness, patriotism, and loyalty, and preserve the heritage of the Hongmen for future generations.
